MONROEVILLE Public Library Monthly Newsletter Time sure has flown by this year! I would like to again extend my thanks and gratitude to all our community members. We have so many exciting things planned for this month, and we are looking forward to being able to offer you even more in the coming years! We have some exciting news so please keep reading to find out what will be happening over the next few months! The final page of the newsletter holds all of our programs we have scheduled! Check it out! I am pleased to say that overdue fines are officially gone for good! If you had overdue fines, they have been removed from your account and you will no longer be charged daily fines! **Please note, that there will still be missing/lost and damaged items charges billed to accounts.** Library hours will be changing effective the start of the 2023 calendar year! We will be open more hours to better serve the community! Hours will be as follows: Monday-Thursday 10:00am-8:00pm Friday 10:00am-4:00pm Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm Sunday: Closed Finally, we will be closed on Monday, December 26th in observance of Christmas. We will also be closed on Monday, January 2nd in observance of New Years Day. I hope that everyone enjoys this holiday season with those that are near and dear to them! Cheers! Many of the islanders are not happy about not being invited. Enter Olivia MacDonald who left the island ten years prior, but has come back with her wedding planner in tow. Olivia wants the biggest and best for her wedding and she wants it at the same place on the same day as Flora. Check this book out to find out what happens! Madi: Snowmen at Nigh by Caralyn Buehner-I love this book! I strongly recommend reading it . My mommy used to read this one to me every winter! Super good! Lindsey: Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks-Colby Mills dreamed of a musical career, but now is the owner of a small family farm. Taking some time off and traveling to Florida to do a music gig, he meets Morgan. They fall head over heels in love with each other. Meanwhile, Beverly has the dream to move far away from her husband with her son Tommy. She travels to a small town with Tommy to try to live off the beaten path. The story unfolds and we watch to see how each of these duos fair with what they are wanting in life! . Regular Programming Storytime with Kate: Fridays from 11-12 Month Themes: December 2nd:Polar Express! Wear your Pajamas! December 9th: Gingerbread December 16th: It 's Christmas! December 23rd & 30th: No Storytime! Join us for an hour of early education, read aloud, craft, and snack! Our storytime follows a kindergarten readiness approach! Mindful Mondays with Lindsey: 4-5 pm A weekly creative outlet to unwind and destress! All ages are welcome, as we explore simple stress relieving activities! Each week will be a different activity! Gift Tags, Snowflake Epsom Salt Art, and a Winter Banner will be explored this month! In Stitches with Kate: Tuesdays 4-6 Come and join us for two hours of pure bliss working on your chosen needlework project! Kate will be on hand to help with basic knitting stitches! All are welcome! Book Club: Tuesday, December 27th 6-7pm Enjoy an hour of discussion on this months book The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan. Find it on the Libby App or stop in and pick up your copy! Yoga: Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm Adults 18+ Limit 6! Yoga will be taking a break for the month of December and will start back up on January 5th! Call to reserve a space! Limit 20 Thursday December 15th 5-6pm: Essential Living Join Kate as you make 5 essential oil items that can be gifts for the holidays or for yourself! We will be making Peppermint Lip Scrub, Vanilla Hand Scrub, Peppermint Foot Soak, Christmas Spirit Room Spray, and Oh Deer, It's Christmas Rollerball Blend! Adults 18+ Call ahead to reserve your space! Limit 6 Saturday December 17th 11-12pm: Christmas Bingo with Madi and Christmas Cookie Decorating Join Madi for another round of Bingo and win some awesome prizes! In-between rounds decorate a Christmas Cookie to enjoy! All Ages welcome, and we will have adult prizes!
