MONROEVILLE Public Library Monthly Newsletter A new school year is in full swing and I cannot believe how quick summer passed us by! I hope that everyone enjoyed their vacations and time together! We are excited for all kinds of things to happen this fall and winter at the library! We hope that on September 20th you'll stop by our table at Night Under Lights and say hi! September is National Library Card Sign up Month! If you are seeing this and have not stopped at the library in some time (3+ years), or are new to town, we hope you will come and renew or sign up for a library card with us! We have so many NEW materials to offer! What we cannot get, we can order in through our consortium of 98 libraries! Finally, we will be closed Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day. We will be joining the school in an incredible literacy night event! Come down to Clark Park and listen to the story, then spend time visiting all the different tables! We hope you stop by both the Library and the Friends of the Library tables! We would love to see you and say hi! Crafty Corner: Saturday September 16th 11am. Join us to make a lighted glass etched bottle! Choose any theme and get as creative as you would like! Please call and reserve a space so we know how many supplies that we need! Adults Welcome! Programming We are so excited to add this awesome program to our library! The goal is to read 1,000 books to your child ages newborn to the night before kindergarten! This is a self-paced program and could take you months to years. You can repeat books! Sign up at the front desk and get your book trackers. For every 100 books come to the library and get a sticker and be put up on the reader wall! Once you reach 1,000 books you will receive a certificate and special gift!
