🧣 Share the Warmth This Winter
As the temperatures drop, Monroeville Public Library invites our community to come together in the spirit of compassion and care.
This winter, we’re launching our “Share the Warmth” campaign — a simple way to help keep local children and families cozy all season long.
💙 What We’re Collecting
We’re gathering new or gently used cold-weather items for children and families in need, including:
- Hats & beanies
- Gloves & mittens
- Scarves
- Warm socks
- Coats & other winter accessories
All donations will be placed in the Library’s Blessing Box, located just outside the main entrance, where anyone in our community can take what they need — no questions asked.
🌎 A Season of Kindness
This campaign begins around World Kindness Day (November 13) and continues throughout the winter months.
It’s a wonderful way to teach kindness to kids, support neighbors in need, and celebrate what makes Monroeville special — our willingness to care for one another.
Even the smallest gesture — a pair of mittens, a cozy scarf, a note tucked in with love — can make a world of difference for someone facing the cold.
📍 How to Donate
Donations can be dropped off:
đź“… During normal library hours (for indoor drop off), also place any items in the Blessing Box at any time.
📍 At: Monroeville Public Library, 34 Monroe Street
🧺 Look for the “Share the Warmth” collection bin near the main desk or deposit items directly in the Blessing Box outside.
✨ Want to Do Even More?
Consider writing a short message of encouragement to tuck inside your donation — a few kind words can go a long way!
You can also help spread the word by sharing this initiative on social media (the library has posted it quite a few times).
❄️ Together, We Keep Monroeville Warm
When neighbors care for neighbors, wonderful things happen.
Join us in making this winter a little warmer — for everyone.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
Any leftover, unclaimed items will be donated to the local (Norwalk) clothes bank, where people are welcome to give what they can, and take what they need.
