Help us bring our new pollinator garden to life!

Monroeville Public Library is creating a Monarch Waystation and pollinator garden through our garden grant project, and we would love community members to join us for a hands-on Community Planting Day.

This garden will provide important habitat for monarch butterflies, bees, and other pollinators by adding native plants, milkweed, nectar flowers, and welcoming green space near the library. Once complete, the garden will support monarch butterflies throughout their life cycle, offer food and shelter for pollinators, and create a beautiful outdoor learning space for children, families, and community members.

Volunteers will help plant flowers, prepare garden areas, spread mulch, and add the finishing touches that will help this space grow for years to come. No gardening experience is needed. Just bring comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a willingness to dig in.

This project is part of the library’s larger goal to support environmental education, encourage native planting, and give our community a place to learn more about butterflies, pollinators, and the natural world around us.

All ages are welcome, though children should attend with an adult.

Come help us plant something beautiful for Monroeville, for monarchs, and for the future.
